Fire Operations are broken down into three basic areas: Structure fires, Wildland fires and Extrication/Rescue. Each area requires equipment and training unique to the task. All firefighters are trained in structure fire and extrication/rescue operations.
Many choose to undergo the physical and technical training required for wildland firefighting as well.
Fire calls for our department are normally for grass or forest fires, house fires (or other type of buildings, example (barns or sheds), or car fires. Each involves different techniques and equipment to handle. We also respond to calls for Vehicle Accident Extrication, Search and Rescue and to assist other fire departments in our area: called mutual aid.
Emergency Medical Services
EMS Director: Bill Jenkins
All Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel are certified and licensed by the State of New Mexico. The department has a fully equipped medical rescue ambulance. Through their efforts the department provides the community with life-saving emergency care.
